I have downloaded their platform and used the web platform. I opened a simulated account and was not able to make any trades due to insufficient margin funds. The web platform does not provide the options of the platforms such as ThinkorSwim or Etrade such as allowing for tick intervals and is overall a less attractive interface. The web platform is the better of the two.
I tried to withdraw my funds via WIRE and was delayed 6 DAYS. They have ridiculous policies(Can't use balance for daytrade if the funds haven't settled even in a margin account- Literally every other brokerage allows this as it's the entire principal behind a margin acct.), terrible customer service, and will blatantly hold your money hostage for as long as they can. I will not be putting real money into this brokerage and neither should anybody else.Tradestation is the WORST brokerage I've ever had. Then I contacted customer service through their live chat and was in queue for 30 minutes only to be told that they could not help me and I would have to wait to be called by a "Simulated Trade Specialist" and that they will call me in "1-3 business days". I could not make a $100 purchase of a security even though I had a simulated balance of $1,000,000.
When you see your investment crashing down into oblivion, you want to dump it before you loose everything, right? Well you can not do that with Trade Station when they shut down for maintenance. Why is that an issue for Crypto currencies? Any one who watches the Crypto market knows about it's volatility. Trade Station frequently shuts down for maintenance. What does this mean? Well unlike 99.99% of their competitor's platforms that are actually true 24/7 active trading platforms that never close down. (Con's.) 1) The 24/7 Crypto service does not necessarily mean that they have a real 24/7 active platform. I am not going to just use this review as a complaint areana so will first talk about their (Pro's.) Great platform, Low Fee's and the Crypto platform includes 24/7 service of helpful agents that actually answer the phone.
Typically they shut down the Crypto platform at 4pm on a Friday. That is almost never true. It's supposed to be 2 hours every other Friday. How long does the maintenance take is anyone's guess. Trade Station holds your Crypto currencies hostige while they casually do maintenance.
You want to be there with your hands in full control of your opportunity. Anyone who follows the Crypto currencies market knows that the biggest opportunities only happen 3-4 times a year. Or to invest before the market peaks out. So when does the Platform reopen? I have personally witnessed the platform form shut down for days while I cling to the edge of my chair waiting to sell my investment before it crashes.
Now here you are pulling your hair out and praying that your platform will reopen before the market drops again. The platform is shut down while the rest of the world is trading trillions of dollars on every other trading platform in the world 🌎. Here is your chance to finally make a big bucket load of money but no. Finally the market spikes at 4pm Friday. This is your opportunity to sell that Crypto currency you bought low and have been holding for months waiting for the market to go up.
Especially if it happens to be Crypto currencies. Meaning every time there is a political battle between the SEC and the other corrupt factions of our government your money and investment is going to be manipulated by them. 2) Trade Station is a government controlled brokerage. I know have to trade Crypto currencies on a different trading platform outside of Trade Station just to avoid losing my investment. This is a huge problem for Crypto currency investors and I am sure I am not the only one.
If you were one of the investors Trading on a government controlled platform like Trade Station when XRP was hot and you bought some. Remember XRP? The rest of the world made trillions on this nifty little Crypto currency. Has this happened? Oh yes. Nothing would delite them more for you to lose money on Crypto currencies.
Those are my 2 Con's with Trade Station. It's difficult enough to invest your money without maintenance and some government entity with a hair across their ass messing around with your money. Even when I tried to transfer the funds to another Trading platform it took weeks of red tape. Then you will know every one at Trade Station lost a lot of money.
I can't cancel the withdrawal, I can't sell Litecoin for dollars, I can't do anything. The call lasted over 50 minutes and during that time all I got was that I had to send a selfie with my passport to their email and I had to wait another 24 hours for verification!So the result? I purchased Litecoin cryptocurrency and requested a withdrawal, since then I can't do anything with my cryptocurrency. Then I texted many times on Tradestation livechat and suddenly someone called me. About 10 times only to get a robot who told me I was on a waiting list. But an unpleasant surprise was waiting for me! I received an email telling me that I had to call a US phone number first and get verified.I'm from Europe and all international calls cost me $3 per minute, but I needed to do this because the withdrawal couldn't be cancelled.So I started calling.
